Here is a sneak peek of one of my illustrations from my first final year collection... It is really exciting to see it all coming together.
My inspiration initially came from the mesmerizing work of M.C. Escher, especially his work with birds. From there, I dug out lots of pictures of birds, I watched The birds by Hitchcock and even tried to make women birds for my illustrations. I played with manipulating natural fabrics, embelishment and lots of beads to come up with a feathered and bird like effect with out the use of actual feathers...
